Japanese Prints

Throughout art history, the Japanese culture has been an inspiration to many artists, with collections of Japanese prints being held by such major artists as Picasso, Van Gough and Menpes to name but a few. Japanese prints were often ephemeral in nature so were usually not produced in large editions and were made to comment on the social and political happenings of the time.
