Marnie Wark is an abstract artist who used to live in South Australia but recently relocated to a sheep & cattle station, on the Macalister River, in the Victorian High Country.

Her inspiration for this exhibition has come from the cycle of the seasons. The pieces are essentially studies in composition and colour, attempting to convey a feeling of space that is evocative of the Australian landscape. Great importance is placed on the tension between line and shape, form and content, simplicity and vibrancy, resulting in a never-ending exploration of the spirit of space.

Surrounded by the ever-changing colours and shapes, the environment is a great source of inspiration in her Wark's work. Her pieces are essentially studies in composition and colour, trying convey a feeling of space that is evocative of the landscape that she is working in.
