Wendts Australian (Silversmiths)
The following fine group of castings and moulds was used by Wendts, the Adelaide Silversmiths during the Nineteenth Century in the manufacture of trophy and presentation pieces.
They were integral in the production of silver presentation Emu Egg groups and are extremely important as they help further the knowledge of the processes undertaken by the working silversmiths of the time. Several of these pieces are illustrated in J.B. Hawkins, Nineteenth Century Australian Silversmiths (Antique Collectors Club, England, 1990) and they have come directly from the collection of Mr Timothy Wendt.
